Renewable Energy Business

The TRE Group operates six woody biomass power plants primarily fueled by unused forest materials such as thinned wood from the bountiful forests of the Tohoku region and construction waste (waste wood) generated in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The electricity generated is supplied to local elementary and junior high schools through the Group’s electricity retailers to achieve “local production for local consumption.” We use the residual heat from power generation to cultivate sweet tomatoes and wood ear mushrooms. We also ventured into the forestry field to build a framework for stable fuel procurement and contribute to the regeneration and revitalization of Japan's forestry industry.
